State Rep. Steve Carra participated in a special 9/11 remembrance ceremony at the Michigan State Capitol alongside Cass County Sheriff Clint Roach to honor the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001.
“Sept. 11 is a solemn reminder of the lives we lost and the incredible courage Americans displayed in one of our nation’s darkest hours,” Carra said. “I was honored to have Sheriff Roach join me as we remembered the victims and paid tribute to the first responders who put their own lives on the line to save others.”
Carra said the ceremony was an opportunity to remember the nearly 3,000 people killed in the attacks and recognize the law enforcement officers, firefighters and other first responders who continue to serve and protect communities across Michigan.
“The courage we witnessed on Sept. 11 showed the strength and character of the American people,” Carra said. “We must continue to honor those we lost, support the men and women who keep our communities safe and ensure future generations never forget the sacrifices made that day.”
